Elder J.I. Awoniyi – 1981-1982

CIMG0420Elder J.I. Awoniyi was born to the Awoniyi’s family in 1940 at Oke-Ode, ifelodun local government area of kwara state.
He had his primary education at Seventh-day Adventist primary school Oke-illa in Osun state and Seventh-day Adventist central school Erunmu in Oyo state between 1946 and 1952. He attended the Nigerian Teachers College of Seventh-day Adventist Ihie in Imo state where he obtained his Grade II teachers certificate in 1959. He also attended the Rural Education College (R.E.C) Minna for the Teachers Grade I certificate in 1963 and obtained his N.C.E from the college of education Zaria in 1966.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1973.
He started his teaching career in 1960 at Seventh-day Adventist primary school Osi between 1960 and 1963 as Headmaster, He was transferred to Government College Sokoto between 1966 and 1970 as a Class teacher, He was appointed Vice Principal of Oke-Ode Grammar School Oke-Ode kwara state between 1973 and 1978, and later transferred to St. Clare’s Anglican Secondary school Offa between 1978 and 1979 as Vice Principal. He was Principal of Igbomina Baptist Grammar School (Ogodo) Isanlu-Isin between 1980 and 1981. He was Principal of Oyun Baptist High School Ijagbo between 1981 and 1982, Principal of Baptist Secondary School Ekinrin Ade between 1982 and 1983, principal of Victory college of Commerce Edidi between 1983 and 1988, and Principal of Oke-Ode Grammar School Oke-Ode between 1988 and 1993.
Elder J.I. Awoniyi is a Christian, Seventh-day Adventist by denomination, he is happily married with Children. He is currently retired educationist and currently a farmer at Oke-Ode his home town.
