Prince O. Oyebiyi -1973-1975

Prince O. Oyebiyi was born on 6th July 1931 to the family of Oyebiyi Oge of Oba Ofeele’s Compound, Iree in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State.

Okunloye Oyebiyi started to attend school at Ebenezer African School Ijoko in September 1939. After a year, he left for Baptist Day School Sango, where he read standard I to IV. In 1945 he left for St James’s School Otta where he read standard V and Iree Baptist School where read standard VI in 1946. He was admitted to Baptist Teachers’ College Benin City in 1953 where he passed the prescribed Teachers Grade II Examinations. In 1958 he attended Ilorin Higher Teacher Training College. After a spell of some years as a teacher, he proceeded to Rural Education College Minna for two years and passed the teachers Grade I Certificate Examinations. After teaching for a year, he went to the University of Ibadan for one year associateship course which he passed. After another year, he went to South West Baptist University Bolivar Missouri, U.S.A. and had his Bachelors Degree with major in Biology. He also had his Master Degree at Warrensburg Missouri U.S.A.

He started Teaching at Ijara Isin Baptist School in 1947. In 1948, he left for Ijoko Baptis School to teach. He was transferred to Idiaga Baptist School, Ekundayo. He taught at Baptist School Ilare, Ife in 1952. He was posted to Ijagbo Baptist School as a trained certificated Teacher. On arrival from U.S.A. he taught at Isanlu Isin Baptist Grammer School, Oyun Baptist High School Ijagbo where he also served as Principal from 1973 to 1975 and D.T.T.C. Ikirun before he joined the Western Region Ministry of Education where he retired as Education Officer III in 1984.

While he was teaching, he preached in the churches at the places where he taught. He was a member of the church training programme, he was a member of the Bible Society of Nigeria. Member of the Governing body of: D.T.T.C. Ikirun, Baptist High School Iree, Akinorun Grammar School Ikirun, Ada Secondary Commercial Grammar School Ada, African Church Grammar School Ikirun, etc.

He got married to Abigael  Igbayilola Oyebiyi Nee Ajiboye in 1957 and the family has 2 boys, 4 daughters and many grandchildren.

Okunloye Taiyelolu Oyebiyi died in year 2006.

Late Okunloye Taiyelolu Oyebiyi was honoured with an award of Excellence in recognition of his contribution to the development, discipline and humanitarian services rendered as Principal of OBHS Ijagbo by the Old Student on 12th April 2007 at the 2nd AGM in Ilorin.
